Rental terms and conditions
Last updated: July 2026 · Apply to every rental agreed with Sherley Location. This English version is provided for information; the French version prevails.
Article 1 — Purpose
These terms govern the short-term rental of vehicles (cars, two-wheelers, water-sports equipment and machinery) offered by SHERLEY LOCATION, a SASU (simplified joint-stock company) with share capital of €1,000, registered with the Fort-de-France Trade and Companies Register under number 879 096 170, SIRET 879 096 170 00011, VAT FR45879096170, registered office 10 rue Persin Césaire, Trénelle, 97200 Fort-de-France, publication director: Sherley Magloire (agency: 12 rue de la Rocade, 97200 Fort-de-France). Any booking implies unreserved acceptance of these terms.
Article 2 — Driver requirements
- Hold an original, valid driving licence for the category of vehicle rented. EU licences accepted; non-EU licences must be accompanied by an international driving permit where applicable.
- Minimum age and licence seniority: specified at booking according to the vehicle category. A young-driver surcharge may apply.
- Present an ID document and a credit card in your name for the security deposit.
- Only the drivers named on the agreement are authorised to drive the vehicle. An additional driver is possible for a fee.
Article 3 — Booking and payment
Booking requests are made through the website form, on WhatsApp or by phone. A booking becomes firm after written confirmation from Sherley Location (WhatsApp or email) and payment of the requested deposit through a secure payment link. The balance is paid at the latest when the vehicle is handed over. Prices shown include all taxes, with unlimited mileage for cars.
Article 4 — Security deposit
A security deposit is required when the vehicle is handed over, as a pre-authorisation on a credit card in the main driver's name. Its amount, from €800 to €1,000 depending on the vehicle, is given in the booking confirmation. It is released within 7 days of the return inspection, provided there is no damage, missing fuel or traffic fine. In the event of damage, the amount withheld is limited to the applicable excess.
Article 5 — Delivery and return
The vehicle can be delivered and returned at Aimé Césaire airport, the port, a hotel, a villa or the agency, as agreed. A joint inspection (including photos) is carried out at pick-up and return. Any late return not agreed in advance may be charged under the conditions set out in the rental agreement.
Article 6 — Cancellation and changes
- Free cancellation up to 7 days before the start of the rental: the deposit paid is refunded in full.
- Cancellation less than 7 days before, or no-show: the deposit paid (30% of the rental amount) is retained by Sherley Location.
- Date changes free of charge, subject to availability.
Article 7 — Fuel
The vehicle is supplied with a full tank and must be returned full. Otherwise, missing fuel is charged at the current price, plus the service fee set out in the rental agreement.
Article 8 — Insurance and excess
Vehicles are insured for third-party liability in accordance with the regulations. An excess remains payable by the renter in the event of an at-fault claim or where no third party is identified: the amount depends on the vehicle and is given before the rental. No excess buy-back option is offered. Never covered: driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, lending the vehicle to an undeclared driver, use off paved roads, obvious negligence (keys left in the car, wrong fuel), underbody and tyre damage unless an option says otherwise.
Article 9 — Renter's obligations
- Use the vehicle with reasonable care, within Martinique only.
- Do not sublet, carry passengers for payment, take part in competitions or tow.
- Immediately report any accident, theft or breakdown on +596 696 05 61 12 and provide an accident report form within 48 hours in the event of an accident.
- Pay any traffic fines incurred during the rental; the administration fee set out in the rental agreement may be added if administrative processing is required.
Article 10 — Breakdown and assistance
Assistance is available 24/7 throughout the rental. In the event of a breakdown not caused by the renter, Sherley Location replaces the vehicle as quickly as possible or refunds the unused rental days.
Article 11 — Personal data
Collected data is processed in accordance with the privacy policy.
Article 12 — Mediation and disputes
In accordance with Articles L.611-1 et seq. of the French Consumer Code, customers may use a consumer mediator free of charge; the name and contact details of the mediator chosen by Sherley Location will be published on this page. In the meantime, any complaint may be sent to sherleylocation972@gmail.com. Failing an amicable settlement, the courts of Fort-de-France have jurisdiction. Governing law: French law.
