Pointe Simon or Tourelles: where your car is waiting
Fort-de-France has two cruise berths. The Pointe Simon cruise terminal is right in the city centre, a short walk from La Savane park, the Schœlcher library and the Saint-Louis cathedral. When several ships are in port, some dock at the Tourelles quay, a few minutes east by car. Wherever your ship berths, we meet you at the terminal exit with the car: no shuttle, no taxi, no counter. Tell us your ship's name and we check the berth with the port schedule the day before.

A perfect one-day itinerary by car
A perfect one-day loop: Balata Botanical Garden and the tropical Route de la Trace (25 min), Saint-Pierre, the “Pompeii of the Caribbean” (45 min), then back along the north Caribbean coast. For beaches, head south: Anses-d'Arlet and its turtles (40 min), Les Trois-Îlets (35 min) or Les Salines at Sainte-Anne (1 h). Rum lovers can stop at the Depaz or Clément distilleries (45 min).
Good to know before you drive
Plan to be back at the terminal at least 1 hour before all-aboard: traffic in Fort-de-France is heavy from 4 to 6 pm. Martinique is a French overseas department, so roads, signs and rules are European and you drive on the right. An EU licence is accepted as is; other nationalities should carry an international driving permit with their national licence.
Martinique drives on the right with the same road rules as mainland France. Tropical showers are sudden: slow down on wet roads, especially on hillside bends. Night falls around 6:30 pm all year round, so plan your drive back from the beach.
When to book your cruise car?
High season runs from November to April, the dry and sunny season, plus July and August during school holidays. Automatics, SUVs and 7 to 9-seaters go fast: book four to eight weeks ahead for Christmas, Carnival and Easter. From May to June and in September and October, prices drop noticeably and the roads are quieter; the rainy season brings short, heavy showers without stopping you from enjoying the island.

How does cruise port delivery work?
Choose your dates and vehicle online or on WhatsApp. We confirm the exact handover time and place: accommodation, car park, port or airport. A team member hands over the keys, carries out the photo inspection with you and explains how the car works. On return day, we collect the car at the agreed place. A one-way return elsewhere is possible by arrangement with our team.
A 30% deposit confirms the booking via a secure Stripe payment link; the balance is paid at pick-up. The security deposit is a simple card pre-authorisation, released after return. Free cancellation up to 7 days before your stopover.
